HUNTING ORDINANCE
Beginning the weekend of September 24, 2011 through February 5, 2012, the State of Ohio Bow Hunting Season begins. Bentleyville does allow limited bow hunting in the Village.
If you wish to see the property location where hunting is taking place in the Village, you can come to Village hall and view a map showing the designated areas.
Under the provisions of the Village Ordinance, owners of property where hunting will take place must notify adjacent property owners in writing.
The Ordinance can be viewed in the Codified Ordinance book under Section 672.09 (a) (2) (Appendix A and B).
The Villages of Bentleyville, Chagrin Falls, Moreland Hills, Orange, South Russell, along with Cleveland Metroparks, Geauga Park District, South Russell Multipurpose Trail Foundation and planning consultant Behnke Associates, are studying route options for non-motorized transportation (including bicycling and walking,) within the red-outlined study area shown in the final report.

The Duncan McFarland Homestead
Bentleyville Village officials are interested in exploring options to keep the The Duncan McFarland Homestead from being razed. The McFarland Homestead was built in 1848, has architectural significance as one of the few brick Greek Revival dwellings in the Western Reserve and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Metroparks owns the site on land within the Village. The Village is proposing a year-long lease, hopefully at a cost of $1 a year, so that Council can explore interest, possible uses for the building and possible sources of funding both within the Village and within surrounding communities. We have some historical information posted. If you are interested in working on this project in any way, please email Wendy Gillund.
