From the Mayor's Desk

July 20, 2010

Dear Resident:

Bentleyville, like most municipalities in this area, uses the summer months of June through September for local road programs and other miscellaneous infrastructure projects.

The Village 2010 Road Maintenance Program and Solon Road Culvert Projects will be taking place in Bentleyville over the next few months. Repairs to roads in the Village will include:
• Patching on portions of Cannon, Solon and Chagrin River Roads
• Crack-sealing in the Chagrin Valley Trails area, Miles Road, Chagrin River Run and Winding  River Trail
• Asphalt rejuvenation in the Chagrin Valley Trails area, Berkshire Park Drive and Winding      River Trail
• Cul de sac widening on White Tail Lane
• Concrete repairs on Quartermane Circle

In addition, there will be major culvert repair work done on the Solon Road culverts. The culvert project is estimated to cost $140,000, funded by both Cuyahoga County and Bentleyville. The Village share of the cost will be $84,000, and the county will contribute $56,000.

This portion of Solon Road will be closed for approximately 3-4 weeks while the widening and repair work takes place. Detour signs will direct you around the project. Please see page two of the newsletter for more information.

Primary elections will take place on Tuesday September 7 for County Executive and County Council Members. Bentleyville is in district 6. There are both Republican and Democratic candidates running in each primary.

Two programs will entertain you at the Bentleyville park through October. Please see page four of the newsletter for details.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and stay safe.

Leonard A. Spremulli, Mayor
Village of Bentleyville
