The Bentleyville Police Department consists of 16 employees, 3 Full-time, 9 Part-time and 3 Auxiliary sworn officers.
Patrol Service:
The Bentleyville Police Department provides 24-hour emergency and non-emergency response and service to the community. Patrol Officers respond to all calls for service in the Village and conduct the preliminary investigations. The patrol force provides round the clock protection to residents and visitors, pro-active patrol traffic, traffic law enforcement and crime prevention. Field supervision on each of the three patrol shifts by full-time officers.
The goals of the Patrol Officer are high-visibility, pro-active enforcement, an awareness of the needs and desires of the community and its visitors, and fair and impartial professional law enforcement. The Patrol Officer is responsible for providing a safe and friendly environment for all people who live or visit Bentleyville.

The Bentleyville Police Department, led by Chief Timothy Pitts, provides 24-hour service for the Village, for both emergency and non-emergency functions. Patrol Officers respond to all resident calls and conduct preliminary investigations. They provide pro-active traffic enforcement on our streets, and quite, but effective crime prevention activities throughout our Village.
While the numbers may vary from time to time, the Village Safety Forces consists of 3 full-time and 9 part-time personnel. The Village goals for our Safety Forces are high visibility, pro-active law enforcement, keen awareness of resident needs, and fairness and impartially in law enforcement. Providing a friendly, courteous and safe environment for all residents are the overriding concerns.
